Hi Susan, an interesting collection. I think avoiding a label for photography is a strong indication of what you enjoy capturing. Labels or genre can be too restricting and may lead to stagnating your desire to keep shooting. This collection demonstrates why that is so important.
Keep making images the way you do and keep sharing.
Sue… your photography and your vision (both of which you know I am a longtime fan of) are, I am convinced, a result of NOT specialising. I’ve been a photographer all my life and have deliberately never specialised in one particular genre. I firmly believe that anyone who calls themselves a photographer should be able to take a decent picture of anything. Not specialising has without a doubt made me a better photographer. It has also ensured that I don’t get bored! I have never called myself an ‘interiors photographer’ or a ‘portrait photographer’ or a ‘fashion photographer’ and it’s what has enabled me to continue on with the joy that photography continues to bring me. Keep on not specialising Sue! Keep on being interested in different things and never, I beg you, fall into the trap that so many people fall into, namely taking the same picture over and over again! Like I said …… keep on experimenting and giving us all such pleasure in your images!!!!!
Dear Tim, Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I could hear your voice in my head as I read it. Don’t worry, I’ll continue to experiment. I hope things are going well for you. Sue
What a wonderful selection of images. You seem to be really competent in any genre. I guess it just means you’re good at seeing. Lx
Thank you, Linda. You’re right. It’s all about seeing isn’t it!
